In the game, there's a map called "Viking we shall go" and it's map is based around europe, the british is rampart, France is necropolis, Russia is inferno, its somewhat funny but then again, they only have so many factions in the game. Towns in the game share the names of big cities.

But continents for each faction that isn't connected to the real world has been done that way to my knowledge. Things close to it, yes (There's a map based around middle-earth) but not with that intent. Kinda of a cool idea to be honest.

A bath is like instant ramen, you're the noodle, soap goes on the outside with the water. Don't have it too hot that's not good for you, if it's too cold and you don't understand what's going on that's not good either.
Lathering is when soap and water make bubbles. You use that to clean yourself effectively.
It's based on contact and using water to rinse that off.
I'll mention it for completion's sake. Breathing underwater is a no no, most electronics in the bath is bad, don't eat the soap.
That should cover most things for your first bath.

They went with an "Open world design where you can go anywhere" except levels still matter too much.

You will easily find yourself wandering off the proper path and encountering enemies far above your level. Clear out your item supply to survive against them. And then find yourself overlevelled when returning to earlier shit you skipped accidentally.
Pokemon Rapid Red had a better open world design and better level scaling. You can battle any Kanto gym leader out of order, freely explore Kanto, start from anywhere, and gym leaders will grow in power to match you and rematch you whenever you want.
That game didn't implement a level scaling mechanic where the whole world levels with you. Gym leaders just get more pokemon at higher levels as you gain more badges while the impact of individual levels are reduced. You can still evolve and gain new moves by levelling up but a freshly caught pokemon with auto perfected IVs is usually battle ready.

Futhermore it is possible to complete story events out of order.
The story is not written to accomodate this.
Characters will not notice if you complete events out of order.
And the balancing on new Pokemon, items, moves, and abilities is FUCKED.
Was waiting for the new gen to come out before I continued work on my next pokemon essentials game, so I could get gen 9 shit in the game. Now I'm not even sure if I want the new unbalanced shit in my game.
Even the gimmick Terrastalization is fundamentally flawed, because you can use it to change a mons type or use it to buff a mons STAB attacks, which means creatively playing with the gimmick is typically less rewarding than just getting the extra 50% damage on an already overwhelmingly strong mon.
Everything a better game does right is something the new Pokemon does wrong. Really makes you appreciate games with better designed open worlds like BOTW and Fallout NV.

I took Shuckle, which has some of the weakest offensive stats in the game, and ran a damage calc with Adamant 252 Attack EVs and the 60 BP Bug Bite into the default Abomasnow. Abomasnow doesn't have the best BST or stat distribution, but it's not all that bad. With 4x damage, it is guarenteed to 2-hit KO. With 16x, the Shuckle overkills by over another health bar.

Double is way too much. You can balance BSTs around the boost, but I think anything over 15% is unreasonable. At double, you need to choose between a Pokemon being worthless outside of weather, or unbeatable in it.

I removed the neutral damage penalty.
I wanted to make non-STAB moves useless to offset how any pokemon can learn any move.
I also removed OHKOs like Fissure and added perfect accuracy to all moves to minimize RNG.
What would be more reasonable multipliers for super effective and not very effective? I wanted typing to play a bigger role in a pokemons battlefield usage but I think I went overboard with the offense.

Not the guy, the challenge concept.
It's not a "challenge" to go through the whole game with the strongest pokemon in Sinnoh on your team, a pseudolegendary so strong he was banned to ubers, who even has Dragon Rage to make the early game a cakewalk. I'm surprised his 600bst dragon actually died but it was smart of him to put an Altaria on his team and call this a Dragon Monotype challenge instead of a Solo Run. Saved the run.

You know what would be a more hardcore challenge?
Ballslocke.
A pokemon hardcore nuzlocke with all the usual rules plus a new one: If your pokemon faints, it dies AND your maximum party size is reduced by 1 for the rest of the game. That ball is inert. That slot on your belt is permanently blocked by an inert ball. Even if it means you will fight a trainer with more pokemon than you. No redos. No second chances. No losing a party and retrying from the pokemon center with a backup party. You lose one party slot with each death and after 6 deaths the run is dead.

New Playtest doc came out. All these changes look good so far.
They released the "Expert" classes: Rogue, Ranger and Bard (also Artificer, but that wasn't shown here).

Ranger looks a lot better with this update. It should have been a prepared caster from the start.
I'm fond of the changes to two weapon fighting too.
Bard getting Inspiration as a reaction is nice, but moving Font of Inspiration to lvl 7 is painful.
I'm okay with the Bard being prepared, but the way they're simply giving them access to the arcane list (minus several of the schools) means that Bards won't have access to a lot of their interesting spells spells that distinguish them from Wizards, including but not limited to: Heat Metal, Faerie Fire, Grow Plants, Heroism, Aid, Power Word Heal, Light, Tiny Hut, Raise Dead, Teleportation Circle, Magnificent Mansion, Heroes' Feast, Planar Binding, Create Food And Water, Awaken, Speak With Animals, Animal Friendship, Longstrider, Unseen Servant, Cloud Of Daggers, Locate Animals Or Plants, Silence (Seriously?), Zone Of Truth, Bestow Curse, Dispel Magic, Nondetection, Speak With Dead, Speak With Plants, Stinking Cloud, Glyph Of Warding, Feign Death, Dimension Door, Freedom Of Movement, Eyebite, Guards And Wards, Find The Path, Forcecage, Mordenkinen's Sword, Regenerate, Symbol, Teleport, Mind Blank, etc.

For the higher level spells it's not so bad, but for the 5 and lower ones Bards will have to wait until lvl 11 (when they get Magical Secrets) to even consider preparing them, which effectively locks a lot of those spells out of the first two tiers of play.

The Spellcasters should come out at the beginning of next month.
Watch them buff Wizard again somehow.
